The only thing permanent is change
For as long as most of us can remember, the U.S. automobile business has had cycles. Whenever there was a down cycle, you knew you had to hang in there, and before long, things would come back to normal. And then you would see the cycle head upward again. It's not going to be that simple this time Keith Crain is publisher and editorial director of Automotive News. ...

Volkswagen Beetle 67 PDF Print E-mail
Expect some update to this project soon. We recently received a message telling us that the increased torque broke his axle! New parts on order...

I live in Cyprus (Nicosia) and I have just assembled a completely new VW Beetle Type 1 aircooled engine with 2110cc, 248 at 0.05′’ cam, 0.5′’ lift, 2 pairs of 44 Webers, full merged exhaust and loats of other stuff for my 67 beetle. I have a pair of CB heads and performed two grooves in each chamber (according to mr. Singh’s recommendations). I am waiting for some parts and then i will break-in the engine. I will post my results soon.

Have you any results of Grooving your air cooled heads?

I am curious because I just finished a 1776 engine that has 10.5:1 with one Singh Groove between the valves. Initial reasults are that the engine runs much quieter. Power is way up and even lugging the engine produces no pining.

I am using 91 octane fuel though. I am using 28°BTDC timing @ 3000rpm.

so far so good.

I would like to know what your findings or insights are
