Lawnmower engine, 1 groove, 40% fuel savings.
Mr. Singh, During March 2007, I modified the head of my 3.5 horsepower Briggs and Stratton Lawnmower engine with a single groove. Before modification and in good tune, I would run out of fuel before cutting the last 3 x 10 meters of my lawn. I modified the head with a single groove (picture is attached). After modification I mow my entire lawn plus the neighbor's lawn before refueling. Both lawns are almost the same size. Fuel consumption is reduced at least 40%, conservative estimate. I was able to lean the fuel to air mix after the modification but not before. Mid-range power is improved, and the engine runs cleaner. Your grooved cylinder head technique works very well on flathead engines. Feel free to post this information on your website. Frank Akins Only registered users can write comments. Also added a roll of screening to the intake tube...as seen here... http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Don_Kendons_Intake_Scrolls/ http://f1.grp.yahoofs.com/v1/ IBPuR7TxsfcGqDEhDLYASfzeCReiRiGj4dq1DTrW1Fi2tcy_cpO32193ZnNd
