I was wondering if grooving can be done with out any other modifications can anybody help me! I am not very mechanically inclined and would really appreciate if any one could take very basic steps in explaining what exactly it is that i need to do. My main goal is to save as much fuel as possible.

ANSWER:

Of course! This is how most of the grooves have been used! This will breathe new life into your ailing vehicle.

The principles are well described here and elsewhere, you should get some assistance from any mechanical friend who can help you remove the head. After that, the Grooves are easy! Nothing difficult. Cut narrow channels from the roof to the floor and make sure to remain 1mm away from the gasket.

Look around for more details.
